Sobriety (and Life) doesn't have to be a struggle
Wednesday Jun 23, 2021
Wednesday Jun 23, 2021
Ep 121 - Why are humans so hell bent on making life such a struggle. It's like we seek out anxiety and stress. How often do you choose the sugary snack, the argument, the field mindset over any action that would be more advantageous to your growth and the upward momentum toward your best, empowered self.
In this week's episode we get into Stuart Wilde's book, "Life was never meant to be a struggle." I randomly found this book and now I am enamored by it. Just hit play and let's discover how you are creating struggle in your life rather than your highest sense of self - then let's get to evolving toward the version already living inside of us and just waiting for us to recognize it's been in us all along.

Time, Energy, Money, and People
Tuesday Jun 08, 2021
Tuesday Jun 08, 2021
Ep 119 - Why are you making the decisions you make? What is the driving force that compels to decide and do what you do? How are these drivers showing up in your life? Are you happy with your results? Now that I have peppered you with questions, let's get to the meat of this show!
Time, Energy, Money, and People. These four components of life are generally the drivers in why, what, and how we make the decisions we do, the choices we make, and the actions we take. Are you fully aware of how these drivers are guiding you? Have you checked in with yourself to ask if you are comfortable with how these drivers are motivating you or being a barrier in your life.
This week we discuss how time, money, energy, and people are pulling you or pushing you in your life. Just hit play and let's dive into these four drivers so you can step into YOUR seat of awareness and be the creator in your life...right now, right, yes, that's right, now.

The opposite of addiction is connection
Wednesday May 26, 2021
Wednesday May 26, 2021
Ep 117 - When we connect with another person we are opening ourselves up to the wonderment that is human interaction. After this last year, with all the physical distancing, I think as we begin to move to a return to openness that we begin to ask ourselves - how do I listen, how do I communicate, how am I heart-centered.
117 shows. I have been looking forward to this number for so long I half expected the episode to just go on forever - but that would drive us all mad.
Our minds filter, process, group, and identify information similarly BUT what we create with that information in our mind is absolutely different. When we allow our unconscious mind to determine how we present ourselves in the world then we are stepping out of our seat of awareness. I don't know about you but I want to connect with those I talk with because, after all, the opposite of addiction is connection.

The importance of reflection on your sobriety and recovery journey
Wednesday May 19, 2021
Wednesday May 19, 2021
Ep 116 - Reflection on what we have achieved is often lost in the fray of our daily lives. I have even said that it is important to congratulate the commitment to the journey and not the progress itself - and this is for the benefit of the unconscious mind, but thats for another episode.
In this episode I dive into why looking back on your journey is a healthy thing to do. When it is the most advantageous. What that can look like for you or feel like for you and definitely what that can sound like for you.
We are all experiencing our own individualized journey and how we choose to celebrate ourselves, our progress, and our commitment is a decision we all make on our own. These are some of my perspectives and by no means are the bar for which you should sit upon. The human mind is a magnificent creation and in this episode we celebrate what it has helped us accomplish through our own dedication and discipline.

Love and accept yourself, change the behavior
Wednesday May 12, 2021
Wednesday May 12, 2021
Ep 115 - Accepting who you used to be is a huge step toward the self-worth we seek to internalize in our addiction recovery. This means feeling into the love you have for yourself or perhaps it means, to you, loving yourself for the first time in a long time. Our behaviors are not who we are nor are they who we were. We behaved the way we did because we were being run by unconscious programming that manifested from our sufferings, traumas, and the ill-programming laid upon us by our influencers.
When you really step into accepting yourself, even though your behaviors were not what you would recall as being based in integrity - we can continue on the journey of addiction recovery.
Accept the person, change the behavior. We so often judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their actions. We can start, today, the act of releasing judgment and instead accept the person, and ourselves. Judging doesn't do much good when we are all living in glass houses.

Happiness doesn't have to be stress and anxieties victim
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Ep 114 - Don't release what makes you happy when stress and anxiety constrict around you. When emotions overwhelm some people find themselves laid up in bed or on the couch unable to get up and do much of anything. The irony of that lack of action is that the very thing that you loved to do before the funk, the stress, and/or the depression laid you up is the very thing that can begin to lift you out of that cavern.
What do you really, really, really enjoy doing? Writing, walking, exercising, cooking, talking with loved ones, hanging with your pet, creating, reading - I will stop now with the examples because you get the point.
When you are stressed out, or whatever emotion has you by the ear, not doing the thing that make you the happiest is a double disservice. One, you are missing out on the things that bring you joy, and two, you are digging yourself in deeper when the ladder out is so clearly obvious to you - do the things that bring you joy and happiness.
There might be some of you who read that and think, "dude, you have no idea the depths of anxiety that I can dig myself into." I am sorry that is your state of mind. I am even more sorry that you are choosing that for yourself. YOU. CHOOSE. THAT.
Personal responsibility, self awareness, and self management are key components to getting a handle on your emotions and empowerment in your emotional intelligence.
Just hit play and let's see where we go with this today.

Rethinking Happiness
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Ep 113 - Is happiness an emotion, a mood, a state of mind? I have said, many times, that I think seeking happiness is a fool's errand because emotions are fleeting and constantly making it your goal to be happy would require you to always be in the emotion of happy - and the human experience doesn't open us up for happiness 100% of the time.
What if happiness has been a state of mind all along? What if one book, one sentence, could begin the journey of a 11,500 steps toward a more empowered way to understand, apply, and evaluate happiness in my life. What if today you and I journeyed down the road less traveled and forged our own path toward our own definition of happiness.
I love how my unconscious mind directs me to broaden my awareness, and today I will bring you along for the ride, as we unravel happiness as a way of being and not the emotional state it can often be and not be.
Is happiness an emotion? Is it a mood? Is it a state of mind? Perhaps it is the chameleon of emotions and it is all of them and none of them at the same time. Interest piqued? Perfect...just hit play.
