Sobriety, the benefits, and what is next
Saturday Jan 08, 2022
Saturday Jan 08, 2022
Ep #148 - When we take on any endeavor in life, is it the act of taking something on or the benefit of introducing this new thing into our life that is what we are really after? Sobriety itself is just the act of no longer getting intoxicated or imbibing or doing something that has become impulsive and has been seducing our lives down the dark slide for a long time.
What we are really after are the benefits of getting sober. The benefits of no drinking or doing drugs or mass eating or gambling, etc.
These benefits are what we are seeking and that is what I have been talking about for the last month - how to set goals and achieve them so you can attain these benefits you hear others talking about.
Sometimes what's next is what you have already been doing and sometimes its something brand new completely - and you will only know which fork in the road to take when you reach the fork through action!
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

New Year: New You or Same You?
Saturday Jan 01, 2022
Saturday Jan 01, 2022
Ep #147 - The New Year is upon us. I've been talking about this since December 1st and it is here. We have reached the half way point of our baton passing cycle and it is time to really buckle up and get the momentum of 2022 going. There are infinite ways to achieve sobriety and journey into addiction recovery - I have made that clear since episode one.
How are you seeking your highest self? How are you solidifying your changes into unconsciously habituated behaviors? How have you been embracing the topics on this show and integrating them into your life?
Take time this weekend to really love yourself for being in this community and for seeking a better way of life for yourself. All to often people don't take inventory of their accomplishments and I think it time we do this as a collective.
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

Patience and Impulse Control
Wednesday Dec 29, 2021
Wednesday Dec 29, 2021
Ep #146 - Patience is not the act of waiting, it is the attitude you have while you are waiting. As addicts we lacked patience in many aspects of our lives. Now, as we journey from sober curious, and from sobriety to recovery - we want to be extremely mindful of how we are being patient or impatient in our life.
As we encourage ourselves to add in new, more desirable habits, being mindful of over habit stacking is something to pay attention toward each day. Shooting ourselves out of a cannon, and expecting ourselves to keep up that level of energy, doesn't leave a whole lot of space for us to expand. It's the tortoise and the hare fable playing out in our very own lives.
When we lack impulse control and seek to cannon fire ourselves into new ways of behaving we open the door for us to not keep our promises to ourselves, as the fiery excitement wanes, because we can often, misguidedly, believe that it was that excitement that created the desire to change and not the internal flame of our divine essence.
I know this description might be sounding a bit heady. Feel me on this, how you picture yourself accomplishing goals in your life is not generally how they are actually accomplished.
Let's use our addictive nature for good instead of evil and slowly integrate new habits and behaviors and down the road we will look back and be amazed at our progress - this I can promise because I have been doing it for years with myself, clients, and attendees and have seen the results for myself time and time again
All that you seek is on the other side of risk and that risk today is choosing patience over speed. Impulse control is a real thing and we're going to get even deeper into than we have did in episode #76.
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

Who are you being while you get there?
Sunday Dec 26, 2021
Sunday Dec 26, 2021
Ep #145 - You don't have to know exactly where you are going on this amazing journey we call sobriety to recovery. When you work on yourself, your recovery, your career, self, and relationship spheres daily - you will get somewhere closer to the version of yourself you desire to experience when you look in the mirror.
What I want to focus on today is how you can be the person you desire to be...today.
How are you acting, behaving, and externalizing your internal changes to the external world? Who are you being in pursuit of your highest sense of self.
The idea you can snap your fingers and become the best versions of yourself is ridiculous. So, if you are being an undesirable person to be around while you are pursuing your highest self what makes you think once you get there, and there is quite subjective in itself, you can just snap your fingers and be a "better" person?
Are you being loving, compassionate, kind, and so on as you pursue your healing from and through addiction? Or are you being mean, nasty, spiteful, bitter, and so on?
Who you are being while you get there is mucho importante because you will be "getting there" much longer than you will be "there" because as soon as you get "there" you will already have another "there" that you are going toward.
Sounds riddle-y doesn't it...of course it does, I'm Jesse.
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

Internalize your goals
Thursday Dec 23, 2021
Thursday Dec 23, 2021
Ep #144 - You internalize your goals by attaching them to something meaningful within yourself. If you attach your goals to external validation, from other people, places, or things, then the energy you are willing to put toward that goal can and will dissipate when you do not get the response you desire from your hard work, actions, and behaviors - from the people, places, and things you were trying to impress to begin with.
When you attach your goals to an internal desire for yourself, from yourself, then the internal flame burns eternally. Goals that are attached to internal desires are more easily habituated and transformed into "just the way you live." Less thought and energy are transported to this behavioral action(s) as the brain experiences these actions as habits that it performs without anything more than a cue triggering it.
Internalize your goals and experience the power of desirable habits, right now, today.
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

You aren‘t what you‘ve done, nor what you do
Wednesday Dec 15, 2021
Wednesday Dec 15, 2021
Ep #143 - If we aren't our labels. If we aren't what we've done. If we aren't what we are currently doing. Then who are we? Labels exist to easily identify a person, place, or thing because going around saying, "hello human," or, "hey person," is just silly. Height, weight, skin, eye, or hair color, religion, gender, age, etc., etc., and so on - these are just a few of the many labels we use to label ourselves so we can be more readily identified and boxed in by the world around us.
Same goes with our addiction. Same goes with our careers. How about our living situation or the city we live in? All of these and more become what identifies us to others.
There are masks and there are hats and there are labels and there are identifiers and all of these when added together become what we think we are - but we are so much more.
We are everything and we are nothing. We are perfectly imperfect and conditionally unconditional. If you think these show notes go off in a loop and make no sense then you aint seen nothing yet!
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

FEAR and people recognizing and understanding your changes
Friday Dec 10, 2021
Friday Dec 10, 2021
Ep #142 - Face Everything and Release. You are changing. You are growing. You are evolving. This is a fact. Whether it is happening at the pace you think it "should" be or not is a perception issue you are having and we have discussed and will continue to discuss that perspective.
As you create these changes in your life, the people closest to you may not recognize these changes in you, they may not even care to discuss these changes with you. That isn't anything against you nor does it mean they don't respect and love you. Humans tend to care more about and pay more attention to what is happening in their life than other people's lives - that's just the way people are sometimes.
When people ask you about what is changing in your life, when they do inquire about your growth, they may not be prepared for the enthusiasm you show them. They may be in their head judging where they are at in their life, and feeling insecure they are stagnant, while you are marching ahead in your growth and development.
This isn't anything on you. You have this opportunity to not let their perspective hinder you from continuing on your path. Your path is your path and their path is their path. What you want to maintain is the courage to continue to grow and to continue to share your evolution with those that ask you about it - and be okay when they don't "get" you.
Their perspective is uniquely theirs and yours is yours and what matters most to your sobriety and recovery journey is that you don't allow their lack of excitement or understanding around your growth and journey to negatively effect your tenacity toward achieving the version of you that you have been envisioning.
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

The Masks We Wear
Monday Dec 06, 2021
Monday Dec 06, 2021
Ep #141 - Hiding our true selves from ourselves or our loved ones serves to conceal what we are truly thinking, feeling, and experiencing from ourselves and them. Wearing masks is meant to hide something, to be someone we are not, to conceal our true identity from those around us and from the person looking back at us in the mirror.
Superheroes wear masks so people won't know who they truly are. Sure, it works in comics, sort of...how many of those characters actually suffer because of this hiding behind a mask. How many of them have "less than" lives because the people in their actual life aren't able to be a part of the heroes super life?
In your journey from sobriety to recovery you are well aware there are not heroes, or villains, and you certainly are not a victim. You are the creator of your reality and there are challengers and coaches that push you beyond your self-imposed limitations.
Today we are going to dive head first into the discussion of taking off the masks we have worn for far to long so that our loved ones can see us for who we are and embrace the real us because that is who they have wanted all along - and if they don't want the real you then you get to decide if they get to stay or go.
Most importantly, I want you to be able to see you for who you really are so you can decide if what is looking back at you is serving your highest purpose. It is time to take off the masks and connect with the version of ourselves that has been hiding behind the facade for all these years.
I promise you you are not a monster. You are love. You are exactly who you are because of the life you've lead and now that you are entrenched in the Empowerment Dynamic you are the creator of your life...you are your Gamemaster.
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.

Why New Year‘s Resolutions rarely stick
Saturday Dec 04, 2021
Saturday Dec 04, 2021
Ep 140 - You are ready to make massive changes in your life and you do this through massive action. When you decide to lump all your life changes onto a single day you create a tremendous burden for yourself as now that day has to be THE DAY when everything you want to change in your life has to begin.
The unconscious mind will kickback on that. Your old habits, that have been screwed in very tightly, will want to hold their position and over the course of a couple days, weeks, or months you will find yourself slipping back to the "old ways."
For those of you that have and do stick with resolutions more power to you. I am not looking to challenge anyone's past accomplishments. What this discussion is focusing on is how you can make massive changes any day of your life by understanding that changes begin the moment you start thinking about making the changes. The time from the first inclination that something needs to change to the day you realize you have accomplished the change - that is the Baton Zone.
When you understand how one year passes the baton to the next year you can take this philosophy into your life and create a New Year's Day any time in the calendar year. By creating a baton zone you can allow there to be a time period when one habit fades while another habit is solidified.
I freaking love this philosophy and I use it throughout my year and life in general. It's time for you to create your meant to be in your life...and this is a great place to start. See ya in there!
Just hit play and let's dive in with our open minds, hearts, and energies bringing everyone into the fold - you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.
Stand up, step forward, raise your hand - it's your turn, I will call on you.
