Ep #177 - Blaming, complaining, and making excuses is going to hold you back in your recovery. It matters. It really, really does, and here is why. When you blame others, complain about what is happening in your life, and making excuses for why you aren't doing something - you are willingly handing your power to create your life, the way you desire it to be, and handing it over to someone else.
Are you the passenger in your life car? Are you giving someone else the keys, the wheel, and ultimately, your power?
The identity statements you use to talk about yourself will become your life's foundation. If you call yourself a piece of crap and continue spiraling on this feeling over and over and over again - you will actually believe you are a piece of crap. Your decisions you make, the choices you choose, the energy you carry yourself in front of others - all of this and more will be anchored in your identity statement that you are a piece of crap.
When you listen to yourself talk about yourself, others, the world, your awareness of your language patterns will give you incredible insight into how you feel, think, see, and talk about your life, and the world at-large.
It is time to step into this journey of yours. You can hand over your power or you can stand strong in yourself, knowing that you might not know you are amazing, yet, and you will soon enough. When you open your mind to the subliminal messaging you are sending through your unconscious mind, which is showing itself through you unconscious habitual actions, your conscious mind will shift it's thoughts about your life and you will turn on the lights to the amazingness you have been all along.
The way you talk from here on out will deepen your trust in yourself which in turn will rebuild the love you desire for yourself, toward yourself.

Ep #175 - I feel like most humans favorite activity is reliving the past in their head, in a state of looping, looking for ways they could have done things differently. The judging, complaint, blaming, and making excuses, all aspects of not taking personal responsibility, are literally the embodiment of people living in the past.
We are accustomed to living in the past. To reliving long ago experiences, either as a loop to make up for something we perceive as wrong, or to remember good moments that we wish we could live all over again.
Living in the past is screwing in deeper the trauma, heartache, and disappointments that lead you to addiction. Moving toward your future will entail you to take the lesson from the past and leave the trauma and suffering back in the past with the memory.
As you journey through your healing you will want to set goals and these goals become your North Star. The standards you set for yourself are the actions you take each day to reach and accomplish the goals you set for yourself.
If you are surrounded by people with less than standards then you are going to behave like them. It's inevitable. Humans tribe up and if your tribe is weak sauce then you will absorb that. To set the standards that will work you to your goals you want to be aware of the daily actions you take to reach your goals.

When seeking those easy wins at the start look no further than your physical body and environment. Getting active, no mater the level, and being aware of your environment and how it is fueling you or stalling you are two keys to be highly aware of over the course of all your change work, let alone the first day, week, and month of quitting any addiction.

Ep #173 - You stand in front of the mirror. The voice inside your head has been badgering you for way too long. You look at yourself and who is looking back is not someone you want to recognize any longer. Time and time again you have said to yourself, "not another day." Day after day it's the same stuff, different day.
Why is it that somethings you get into without haste and others seemingly fail to launch?
What if I told you it was what you are saying to yourself, the small, off-hand comments, those are your barriers between what you want and creating the actions as habit.
Nothing is hard until you define it as hard and then repeat that to yourself over and over again. Today you and I will go on a journey and by the end of this episode inspiration will be covered.

When we step into this conversation seeing that the life you have and the life you aspire to have are created by the habits that run your life then we grasp the level of empowerment you have always had in choosing the life you desire.
We are trauma-informed, meaning you understand that trauma has occurred in your life, and in every person's life, and through this trauma you began choosing and creating habits that would, in some way, alleviate the pain you felt on the inside.
Once you journey into the contemplation of ending the addiction, once you start planning for what you will do when you end your addiction, that is when the massive action of quitting your vice and substance of choice begins your journey from sobriety to recovery.
How are you behaving during this journey? What behaviors are causing you grief and suffering as you transition from active substance use to active sobriety? Where in your life must you now create new habits while also breaking the physical, emotional, and mental breaks dependency on your substance and vice of choice?

Ep #169 - The time between the stimulus and your action is where your choice exists. Your choice to react emotionally triggered/activated/cued or to respond emotionally grounded will determine the outcome of any interaction you are having in your life.
You know what it is like when someone goes half-cocked on you. Likewise, you know what it feels like when someone approaches you with an issue and they speak to you with kindness and calmness.

As we journey from sobriety to recovery it is up to us as individuals to focus on our own emotional homeostasis and in this episode I will give you very actionable practices to participate in each and everyday to help you heal and guide yourself to your highest sense of self - so you can choose emotionally grounded over emotionally reactive.
