Have you ever looked in the mirror and been disappointed with who’s looking back, or even worse, horrified by who you’ve become? After awakening in his bathtub, practically dead and not sure how to face another day, Jesse decided he didn’t want to die - he wanted to live differently. From that moment on, he decided to figure out how to do just that, live differently - and to become the person who utilizes his potential instead of continuously squandering it. The journey continues, it's just a new day in my life, and yet the significance of each passing year is not lost on me, nor do I anticipate that it ever will be.
Four years sober, January 13th, 2021. And the 100th episode of this show!! In the same week!! This was totally not planned out a year ago. About 8 weeks out, when I realized this could all happen together, I began the "Back to Basics" series to move us forward on our journey while keeping a heartfelt admiration for where we have journeyed from.
I go over some of my greatest hits in this episode:
It's the journey NOT the destination that brings us the greatest evolution
The Power of Yet
The importance of the words and language patterns we use
Beating ourselves up and getting down on ourselves is counter-productive
Response vs Reaction
We choose how to respond or react to the world
Our choice is our power
And So Many More.
Above and Beyond I just want to thank everyone who listens to this show, those in my inner circle, second circle, and beyond. Just the gratitude I have for JR, Melissa, Thomas, Thom, Dad, Brother, Debbie, Anad, Melissa, Les, Armin - I am sure there are others due a loving mention in here and the last and definitely first on this list from my heart, my strength even though she may not believe it is my sister Leslie, aka Boo Boo. I am not sure what path I would have taken in the Fall of 2016, when I broke my leg, had you not taken the huge leap of faith and stepped into sobriety first. You are truly an inspiration to me.
